Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A. B. M. Obaidul Islam has left Dhaka today July 08, 2026 for London, UK on a 4-day official visit for attending the council meeting of the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU).

During the visit DU VC Prof. Dr. A. B. M. Obaidul Islam will participate in a roundtable on “Leading Universities through Transformation: What will Higher Education Leadership Require by 2035?”. He will deliver lecture and share knowledge there on the changing role of universities and the leadership challenge, new challenges of current leadership development programmes, different gaps in current leadership pipelines, creating universities more diverse and inclusive leadership pathways and development of skills, capabilities and attributes of future university leaders.  

He will also attend the Council Meeting of ACU to be held on July 09-10, 2026 in London. He is expected to hold bilateral talks of mutual interests especially on higher education, research and scholarship programs with ACU authorities as well as Vice-Chancellors of different renowned universities.

He is expected to return home on July 12, 2026. Dhaka University Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) Prof. Dr. Abdus Salam in addition to his duties will discharge routine works of the Vice-Chancellor during Prof. Dr. A. B. M. Obaidul Islam’s visit to UK.
