A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the University of Dhaka and Eminence Associates for Social Development (EASD) was signed today August 24, 2026 at Treasurer’s Office of the university for promoting mental health research. Treasurer of DU Prof. Dr. M. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury and CEO of Eminence Associates for Social Development Dr. Md. Shamim Hayder Talukder signed the MoU on behalf of their respective institution.

Chairman (Acting) of the Department of Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering Dr. Md Mehedi Hasan was present on the occasion.

According to the MoU, DU Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering Department and Eminence Associates for Social Development (EASD) will jointly conduct research to identify and screen mental health issues before, during and after pregnancy. They will suggest solutions such as tele-therapy for mothers attending both outpatient and inpatient departments of the Institute of Child and Mother Health (ICMH). The collaboration will also explore further research, program implementation and capacity building initiatives. In addition, the parties will organize seminars, knowledge-sharing events and conferences to disseminate evidence and foster collaboration among relevant stakeholders. They will also share and publish research outcomes.
