Dr. Mohammad Elius is curently a Professor of the Department of World Religions and Culture at Dhaka University. He served as an student advisor and a chairman of the same department from October 2009 to September 2012 and October 2012 to September 2015 respectively. Dr. Elius was conferred a PhD Degree in Islamic civilization for his dissertation on " Historical Development of Interreligious Dialogue: A Case Study in Bangladesh" from the University of Malaya, Malaysia in 2021. Prior to this, he was also awarded an M. Phil Degree from the University of Dhaka in 2009. Dr. Elius is doing research on Islam, interreligious and inter-cultural dialogue, religion and peacebuilding in Bangladesh. His research articles have appeared in some high indexed journals including Web of Science and Scopus from USA, Uk, Malaysia and Indonesia. His book on "Fundamental teachings of the Church of Latter-Day Saints: An analysis" was published by LAP, Germany. Dr. Elius participated in a number of trainings and workshops on important research tools. His training programmes include "Analysis of Bibliographic Information for Selecting the best Field of Study" organised by Institute of Research Management and Monitoring, University of Malays 2016, "Sequencing and Organising a Dissertation" and "EBOSCO Research Workshop" organised by Graduate Research Institute, University of Malaya in 2017. Besides, he did a six-month course on "Islamization of Education" from the faculty of Education, International Islamic University Malaysia in 2016.
