Dr. Tahmina Akter Joins ISRT as Faculty Member on April 27, 2025 After Completing PhD in Biostatistics from University of Calgary
The Institute of Statistical Research and Training (ISRT) is pleased to welcome Dr. Tahmina Akter as a Lecturer, who officially joined the institute on April 27, 2025.
Dr. Akter recently completed her PhD in Biostatistics from the University of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, under the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. Her doctoral research focused on “Spatial Infectious Disease Transmission Models: Variable Screening Methods and Logistic Formulation”, which comprised three major projects contributing to the advancement of spatial modelling in epidemiology. She successfully defended her PhD dissertation and is currently awaiting her convocation, which is scheduled for June 2025.
