Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology congratulates its first chairperson (2001-2005) Professor Haseena Khan, for her appointment as a fellow of the International Science Council (ISC). ISC is the largest global organization that operates to catalyze and convene scientific expertise, advice and influence on issues of major concern to both science and society.
Through the fellowship established in 2022, ISC recognizes individuals whose contributions have, and can in future, support the ISC’s mission to be the global voice for science and advance science as a global public good. This fellowship is the highest honor the ISC confers on an individual scientist and is very much an active rather than honorific role.
Professor Haseena Khan is the first individual scientist to be recognized with the prestigious ISC fellowship from Bangladesh. She is a Fellow and the current secretary of the Bangladesh Academy of Sciences (BAS), as well as a member of the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh. Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology proudly congratulates her for all the affiliations.
