Commemoration of 12 June 1897 Great Indian Earthquake: Towards Preparedness and Awareness for Earthquake Risk Mitigation
The Department of Disaster Science and Climate Resilience, University of Dhaka and SUPER Consortium are jointly organizing a seminar titled "Commemoration of 12 June 1897 Great Indian Earthquake: Towards Preparedness and Awareness for Earthquake Risk Mitigation" on 10 June 2023, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at Senate Hall, Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban, University of Dhaka.The seminar aims to commemorate the 1897 Great Indian Earthquake and to raise awareness on earthquake risk mitigation and preparedness. Mr. Md Tazul Islam, MP, Honorable Minister, Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives has consented to be the Chief Guest and Dr. Md. Enamur Rahman, MP, Honorable State Minister, Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief will grace the event as the special guest. The program will be chaired by Prof. Dr. A.S.M. Maksud Kamal, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic), University of Dhaka.
